Outlandish Design Inc., is a young, leading Design and Build Consultancy Firm established in 2016 by our Principal designers, Tanisha Singh and Ximena Herrera.
Outlandish Design Inc. was founded with the objective of educating clients through creating contextually appropriate buildings which are both aesthetically distinguished, functional and sustainable. At Outlandish Design Inc., we take pride in showcasing our plethora of works across a wide range of projects form project feasibility, architecture and planning, interior design, building engineering and build services for both Residential and Commercial projects.
Our work addresses new ways of understanding the often-contradictory interrelations between the city, architecture, landscape, and the world of interiors. Within this context, Outlandish Design Inc. strives to balance between design as the act of disappearance, and creating characterful, responsive and experiential environments.
Our creative and technical team is equipped with experience that follow projects all the way through from concept to completion. We firmly believe that good design is produced from careful study and research, combined with technical knowledge and artistic judgment.
Through our unique integration of strategy, technology and creative implementation, we have successfully put on ground more than hundred projects and counting. Outlandish Design Inc. is a multi-disciplinary studio that works to a high degree of precision to designing quality spaces that foster meaning and belonging.
We connect deeply with clients to craft solutions that enrich lives.
Just as our name suggests, we had an outlandish idea and thus came into existence. Our in house design team is lead by our Principal Designers and Directors Tanisha Singh and Ximena Herrera and our on grounds teams are lead by our VP Marketing, Akshat Tiwari. With more than two decades worth of experience in design and technical experience, both in commercial and residential sector, we started out the company knowing we had the skills, expertise and experience to see projects through conception till an actuality. Our design team has a strong flair for creative and unorthodox design along with a mighty technical background and an eye for detail. We are proficient with Permit drawings, Design development, Interior Design Finishes package, Space planning (for both residential and commercial spaces) and Renovation concept drawings. We also work with registered professionals; Architects, Structural , Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineers and other professionals ,on project that require their expertise, based on the scope of the projects.
XIMENA HERRERA

Ximena is a senior Architectural technologist with a massive experience of over fifteen years in residential and commercial construction. She holds an Architectural Technologist's Diploma and Moisture Control Technician Certificate from the prestigious Southern Alberta Institute of technologies. She also holds a Diploma in Interior Design and is flanked with a LEED G.A accreditation. From building permits to project completion, she is the go-to person and focal point between external clients and internal design and production teams to facilitate completion of contract document packages and keep projects on budget and on schedule. She is strong believer in life-long learning, and keeps herself engaged with new educational and learning activities. She has been an active participant with the Partners in Planning with Federation of Calgary Communities and remains involved in conversations pertaining to construction, changes in By-laws and Sustainable construction initiatives.
TANISHA SINGH

Co-Founder/Director PRINCIPAL DESIGNER
Tanisha is a bespoke designer with a Bachelors in Architecture from India and a Post grad specialization in Green Architecture from Algonquin Centre for Construction Excellence in Ottawa. She further went on to peruse a Diploma in Interior Design and has attained and held a LEED accreditation for years. With over a decade of integrated design experience behind her, she has worked on a wide spectrum of projects ranging from luxury apartments, airports, seniors’ facilities, industrial production lines, low income residences to tiny homes. She has a keen interest in constantly educating herself and keeping abreast with the changing trends in Architecture and Construction. She is extremely enthusiastic about engaging in various volunteering events and has been a participant in the Partners in Planning with Federation of Calgary Communities. She is also a Board member for the Subdivision & Development Appeal Board for the City of Calgary. Recently, she has also taken up initiating the establishment of a community association for her community of residence and is taking up a Master's in Planning from the University of Waterloo.
